Friday Challenge: Last Friday we talked about being a mentor to kids. This Friday we want to keep the challenge going. Keep being a mentor! Here are some ideas of things I have done and experienced:
- I have a 2 year old niece that I focus all my attention on HER when I am with her. We talk and laugh and now I am trying to get her to say she is amazing. Remember I want her to feel like there is no judgment from me about her. She is the princess and I am going to do everything I can do to make her feel like a princess when I am with her!
- My husband and I were at the local grocery store and there was a young cashier helping us. We laughed with her and made her feel important for the brief couple minutes that we spent with her.
- I talked about my Aunt Linda during my last Friday challenge. She sent me an email and talked about her GEMS group that she volunteers with at her church. It is a group of girls that range in ages and she spends lots of time just making them feel important. I feel those are VERY lucky girls! She is one special lady! When I turned 13 she sent me a birthday present that had 13 different gifts in it! That was so AMAZING! I just couldn’t believe she did that for me! She always made me the most amazing birthday cakes too!
You don’t have to do big things to make someone feel special! It is all the little things that add up to the big things in our lives!
What can you do now? What have you already done? Please share your experience!
